The Lahav lab in the Department of Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School is recruiting an Associate Research Director to support the new Department Chair, Galit Lahav, in maintaining the vibrant research environment in her laboratory. The Associate Research Director will partner with Professor Lahav in determining the overall direction of the lab; organizing and executing research projects and collaborations; recruiting and mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral fellows; and writing grants and preparing figures for scientific presentations and papers. The Associate Research Director will lead at least one significant research direction within the lab, and if appropriate may serve as a co-PI on one or more grants.
PhD in a biology-related field with significant experience in experimental techniques such as tissue culture, biochemistry and microscopy. Experience in image analysis, computational modeling or in-vivo work would be a plus. Excellent communication and writing skills are vital. A writing assignment will be part of candidate evaluation, and finalists may be required to demonstrate their writing and/or editing skills.
