Sandro Santagata M.D. Ph.D.

The Santagata Lab focuses on developing and implementing new technologies and computational approaches for multiplexed tissue imaging of cancer resection specimens in 2D and 3D. These efforts are advancing our understanding of the biological properties and interactions of tumor and immune cells within the tumor micro-environment. Using this data, his team identifies spatial biomarkers to improve cancer diagnosis and to tailor individual therapies to improve patient outcomes.

This imaging data has contributed to the creation of cancer and pre-cancer atlases as part of the NCI Moonshot Human Tumor Atlas Network (HTAN) and the Ludwig and Gray Foundations.
