Abstract

In this talk, I will discuss how the evolutionary framework described in my book Evolution Driven by Organismal Behavior has been expanded, in the last years, to fields as diverse as evolutionary medicine, primatology, cultural anthropology, and the conservation of both wildlife and traditional knowledge. This discussion is based on my own research and research by others, as well as my travels to many regions of the planet, including several experiences with several indigenous groups. This talk will therefore include insights on the evolution of wildlife, cultures, beliefs, and medicine, and on how a broad, deep understanding of such diverse items is crucial for discussions on the status and future of our planet.
